Henri Maes - De Halve Maan Bruges | |||
Established in 1856 by Léon Maes knickmaned Henri. In 1981 Véronique Maes created the Straffe Hendrik. In 1988, the rights were bought by the Riva brewery in Dentergem. In 2002 the De Halve Maan brewery was closed. In 2005, Xavier Vanneste, son of Véronique Maes, relaunches the brewery's activity by launching Brugse Zot. In 2008, the brewery recovers the rights to Straffe Hendrik and starts producing it again. In June 2019, Xavier Vanneste signed an agreement with Alken-Maes by which the production and marketing of Blanche de Bruges/Brugs Tarwebier returned to Bruges. Commercial Register H.R.
