 | In 1860, the brewery was owned by Louis Van Capellen and Eugeen De Coster. The brewery then remained in the family. In 1902, the brewery changed its name to Brasserie de l'Ancre. In 1943, Adolf Van Capellen and his brother-in-law Herman de Pauw founded PVBA Brouwerij Van Capellen-De Pauw. Launch of Extra Cap in 1955 for the Brussels World's Fair, scheduled for 1958.
