localisation brasserieDuring the 17th century, Lomprez benefited from a natural resource: a mineral water spring that gushed forth at a place called "Devant les Minières." History records that during that century, during a plague epidemic, the sick of the village and those of Beauraing were taken there because the water was recommended for "kidney diseases, gout, and as a blood booster." Indeed, this water is composed of lithium and iron.
At the beginning of the 20th century, this water, recognized as curative by medicine, was exploited by the Fays family and became a source of commerce, which slowed down during the Second World War.

Around 1960, the spring operators ceased their activity.
Since then, the spring has not been exploited.
