1855 Jean-Charles and Richard Lamot become major shareholders of the Brasserie de la Couronne . 1859 Purchase of the Brasserie de la Plaine , the brewery is now called Brasseries et Malteries de la Couronne et de la Plaine . 1906 César Lamot runs the brewery. 1922 The production is redirected towards low fermentation beers. 1927 Creation of Lamot Ltd with its headquarters in London. The headquarters are transferred to Mechelen. Purchases from different breweries: St Trudo in Sint-Truiden (1955), Fontaine in Tubize (1963) and Cuyckens in Lier (1967). In 1970 the British group Bass-Charington takes a majority stake. 1975 Formation of Bass Belgium with its registered office in the brewery in Mechelen.
