Why ?

Why did I start collecting Coke caps? Wurm, Maigret's designer, still asks himself the question, as this dedication from 1997 shows. Dédicace de Wurm

I have always kept Coca-Cola caps, metal or plastic when I had no choice.

In August 2004, thanks to Internet, I noticed that I was no longer alone and I started exchanging caps. But, faced with the reduced number of new Coca-Cola caps, I expanded my collection to all Belgian caps.

In 2006, I discovered eBay and Delcampe, my collection finally took off ... In 2010, I bought a batch of Congolese and Rwandan caps and added Burundi to it.

How ?

How do I store my collection? Caps folders Coffrets de capsules At first when it was still modest, I kept it in plastic trays slipped into folders.

Via eBay, I met a champagne plate lover who made his own wooden boxes to store his collection. In the end, I bought 6 from him to store my beer capsules, the other capsules will stay in the plastic trays.

How many ?

We all dream of becoming the largest collector in terms of caps; my ambition is more measured: to become the first collector of Belgian ones.

Unfortunately there is still some way to go but I am progressing slowly but surely when I compare myself to other Crowncaps.info members even though I still score in 4th or 5th place.
